Are you asking how to refer to attachments with URLs? If so then from your example, if the staffPhoto were an attachment:

doc.staffPhoto = "<IMG SRC='/mkt/staffdir.nsf/StaffVsno/" + staffdoc.UniversalID + "/$FILE/photo.gif>"

should work.

If the image is not document specific, you could put it into the database as an image resource and access it with "/mkt/staffdir.nsf/photo.gif"
